Welcome to IVER FILM SERVICES! We are currently the only Internet site devoted to explore IFS, and that of its offshoot labels, AFE Video and METROMEDIA.

Iver Film Services was a sizeable independent video software distribution company, located in West London's PINEWOOD STUDIOS. Based in Iver, Buckinghamshire, the company sprouted during the mid-seventies by selling Super 8mm films and equipment; this was before IFS began to diversify further, to become one of the UK's leading distributors of video software...

Some of the earliest video release from IFS were supplied in plastic square boxes, which could house either Beta or VHS formats; cardboard slipcases were next to appear, which would soon replace the ever-popular rental friendly HI-VI boxes. These clunky old-school video boxes became a favourite in video stores, which typically came with a colourful A4-sized paper sleeve tucked inside!

IFS operated throughout the "video boom" and, during their time as distributors, managed to release well over 200 titles. In it's peak, Iver was widely known (within the trade) to be one of the UK's leading independent video software company's. Here at "Iver Film Services.com", we hope to expand upon and learn more about this fascinating distribution company; we also hope to shed light upon their ancillary labels AFE Video and Metromedia, both of whom were used to promote a uniquely diverse range of video software; many of which having yet to appear on any home video format to this day!

Whilst IFS itself may be long gone, having ceased trading over 26 years ago, we feel that the company has left its fans and devotees with a remarkable legacy; the company has touched the hearts and nostalgic impulses of modern-day aficionados world-wide, and collectors of rare videocassettes today prize many of their IFS tapes, which is not without good reason: Despite their 'attractively uniformal' packaging, several films which appeared on the label have yet to re-emerge in this so-called modern digital High-Definition "Blu-Ray" era, making them highly sought-after video items for collectors in the know...
